Hey there, I’m Juliet Uzor- a simple primary school teacher and London-based enthusiastic sewist with huge dreams! Thanks for visiting Sew So Natural - my little corner of the internet! I am mostly known for winning BBC’s Great British Sewing Bee in April 2019 and I’m passionate about inspiring as many people as possible to take charge and sew their own fashion pieces.
In mid 2013, I bought a basic sewing machine from my local haberdashery without a clue in the world about what I was doing. Fast forward to a million clicks of the rewind and pause buttons, I taught myself to create/sew magic on the sewing machine (watching sewing tutorial videos). It’s taken me over 5 years of sewing practise to get to the level that I am now and my aim is to remove the barriers that I faced whilst learning to sew.
I serve people who desire to sew a self made wardrobe, are totally into fashionable pieces that no one else owns and want to learn how to sew confidently and to a high standard. I feel lucky to have the platform to inspire people and show them how to tackle sewing projects. I do hope to inspire and educate you as well through my blog posts, my videos on youtube and my mini tips and tricks on instagram (where I love to hangout on social media).
Still here? Let’s connect (and you get access to my free resource library for good measure)!
When I’m not busy working on creating educative sewing content, you can catch me:
Being a mum to my ‘6 going on 16’ year old daughter or simply cooking up statement sleeve projects to feed my obsession with sleeves!
